Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's new Arial Tram whisks skiers up to the summit of Rendevous Mountain in under 10 minutes, giving them access to some of the finest expert terrain in the United States. If staring down Corbets Coulior at the top of the Tram makes your skis shake, fear not, the ski patrol works constantly to mark dangerous obstacles and ensure safe route finding all over the 2,500 acres of skiable terrain. Off the slopes, jacksonhole.com techies keep skiers updated on snow conditions, live lift status, and other vitals necessary for a successful day of skiing.

For Evel Knievels and powder-hounds, Jackson Hole's upper mountain offers an endless playground of steep chutes, deep powder stashes, open bowls, and technical tree skiing. If the steep terrain is too daunting for some, a squad of ski hosts can be found almost anywhere on the mountain to lead skiers to the array of wide, mellow groomers or bumped runs. For the little rippers coming to visit, the Kids Ranch and ski school help kids of all abilities hone their skiing and boarding fundamentals.

The extensive lift system, with multiple quad chairs, the 8 person Bridger Gondola, and Arial Tram, is the cause for every skier's dream "empty lift line mazes on even the busiest days" but this can leave diehard skiers in need of a mid-day ski break. On mountain dining options include Couloir Restaurant at the top of the Bridger Gondola for the skier with a discerning appetite, Capser Restaurant for casual chili and burger cravings, and various snack shacks with hot chocolate and energy bar basics.

After a day of circling 4,139 feet of cowboy powder and soaking in the immense views from the valley below, skiers flock to the après ski scene at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to compare notes on their discoveries and conquests. The Mangy Moose Saloon is a must visit on every skier's après list, but when it becomes too busy people migrate to Teton Mountain Lodge's Cascade Bar for a mellower atmosphere and satiating après menu. The après ski scene rolls seamlessly into dinner at any one of the eloquent restaurants located at the base of the mountain, including Masa Sushi, the Four Seasons Peak, and Hotel Terra's Il Villagio Osteria. If a day of skiing Jackson Hole's challenging steeps hasn't exhausted you, the best nightlife is about 20 minutes away on the Town Square of downtown Jackson.
